Images above are a few things I've been working on for the FAD competition brief. There was an option of looking at the space race of the 1960s so obviously I choose that one!
Have had a crazy couple of weeks preparing for the Graduate Fashion Week stand, I was part of the team who created the exhibition set up (including the table covers which I will be glad not to see for a long time!), while the 3rd years, with some help from the rest of the 2nd years, chose a piece from their final collection to toile perfectly. The overall stand came together really well and it has been nominated for the GFW Stand Design Award!
A concept idea for a competion run by George at Asda for GFW. Our idea involved a concept for a seasonal perfume range - with a new scent for each new season - S1 for spring, S2 for summer, A1 for autumn and W2 for winter. We designed a range of marketing materials-including "scatch and sniff" wear-with tags to be attached to the corresponding season of George clothes, a "tester" promotional postcard and an instore point of sale stand. I had the please of working with my class-mate Nicholas Harvey - who also has an awesome blog which can be seen here:
So my posting has been thin on the ground as I was lucky enough to get set an External Brief by the casual wear brand Firetrap, check them out here: www.firetrap.com.
I designed a capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2011 and some of the project is shown above. There is an outfit I've produced but there are still hems and button to do so more of that to follow!
For this project we were asked to base our design work around what we spend our weekends doing.
I chose to relate my weekends to a series of numbers and sequences which I then translated into fashion forward, wearable designs, with a range of luggage accessories.
Dress from our first drape project of the year, featured at Fabulous jewellery store opening in Southgate, Bath and at Bath in Fashion 2011, videos of which can be seen here:
I was able to work behind the scenes at all 3 Bath in Fashion Shows as a dresser, it was an amazing experience, working with professional models/stylist and show producers. I would recommend it to anyone! Thanks!
